It's over. I wasn't even in the actual cast, but I'm still gonna cry that it's over. I was only in it for 2 weeks and I'm still gonna cry that it's over. Snap, who ever knew that Pit Orchestra could be so much fun, especially for the most amazing musical ever Beauty and the Beast. Yes, incredible. One of the most amazing experiences of my life. I had never done Pit Orchestra before because I thought you had to be in band. Nope. Of course, if I would have known that, I would have instantly signed up for the piano part because there is SO much of it and it's SO pretty and it's practically the main part! However, I didn't know, so I was stuck with Brad asking me and Mrs. Mathews referring me to Mr. Bowman to play the "harp" part on a keyboard with a harp sound. Yeah, it was SO much fun!! Everyone said I did really well, especially for having only rehearsed 3 or 4 times before opening night. Before that, even. There were 2 matinees and a parents' night. Basically, one day through Act I, next day Act II, both days in which I got COMPLETELY lost because I was so unfamiliar with the music, but after that I finally got the hang of it. Yaaaaaay. Oh my goodness I made SOOOOO many friends!!!! Oh goodness I am so sad, because tonight was closing night, and I will never hear Becca sing those beautiful songs like she does again. She's amazing. She really is. No more watching Brad up there flaunting himself all over the place. No more laughing at hilarious Asay or talented Sousa. No more trying to sneak peaks at the Transformation as Brian rose up out of the fog. No more cute Melissa. No more uber creepy Brian (different Brian). No more careful counting or watching Mr. Bowman for a smile to see if we or the people up on stage did it right. No more Top 10. Haha #1 really was the best: "Just because the show's over doesn't mean your feelings for me is going to change, does it? And we'll still have our little rendez-vous, won't we?" Ah, you gotta love Brad. And, yay, no more blisters on the tops of my fingers. Snap those glis's were FUN!!! Yay 3 cheers for freakin' Pit Orchestra for Beauty and the Beast.

Hip Hip---Huzzah!

Hip Hip---Huzzaaaaah!!!!

I'm totally gonna do it next year, but wait. If I want to sing in college and hopefully get a scholarship for that or something, then I better try out for the play where I will be singing, and not be sitting at the piano or...aardckkclk this is so confusing! Don't worry, I have time to think about it yet. Oh, and today I auditioned for the solo for the song we are singing at the ACDA Convention called "Gloria." I think I did really good considering all the pressure was on me, haha of course. Can you imagine what that would be like? If I got that solo, do you know how AMAZING WONDERFUL that would look like on my college applications? "I sang a solo for the Western Division (of the world!) ACDA Convention." Snap, that alone could get me in somewhere! That would be such an incredible honor to sing a solo at the ACDA Convention in March. That's one of the reasons why I want this solo so badly. Also, I want it because I'm finally coming out of my shell and actually putting my voice to use, and not just hiding it in a choir. I've never done a solo before for anything, and I thought, heck, it's better late than never. I really do want this part. I hope I make call-backs!!! Ok, I really gotta get going. I'm leaving for WASHINGTON tomorrow YIPPEEEEE I'm super excited!! It's going to be SO much fun! And I'm gonna work on my solo while I'm up there, because that's what Mrs. Mathews wants me to do. Yay!

9c~Why won't it let me comment for the beauty and the beast one? that's the one I want to talk about! :) *tears, many tears* now think this: I've been working on that gosh dang play since like, the second week of school! I've been literally stuck w/play people for hourse each day! Now I won't see them at ALL unless I go look for them specifically! *tears* yeah, do the musical w/me next year! Here's what I figure: I was the ONLY girl who made call backs for a lead who didn't have theatrical background. And more than half of those people were seniors. So next year...hopefully I'll get a lead! muahaha

sweet katie i totally didn't know that!!!! that's so awesome!!! yeah seriously the best of luck to you next year!! and i don't know if you'll even see this, but as much as i would love to be in the actual play, i really enjoyed being in the pit as well. if there's a good piano part, i might just do that, but if it's a good play, then i'll definitely try out. heck i'll try out no matter what!!
